Hello, fellow direct marketers.
I hope this blog post finds you well. Today, I want to share a personal update with you all.
As some of you may know, my fiancé, Lauren Miwa, passed away from lung cancer the day after Thanksgiving this year. Her passing has left me devastated and in need of time to heal and mourn.
Therefore, I have made the difficult decision to take the month of December off to focus on my mental and emotional well-being. I wanted to be transparent about this decision and assure you that I will return to blogging and offering copywriting services sometime in 2021.
Losing Lauren has been one of the most challenging experiences of my life. She was not only my partner but also my biggest supporter and inspiration. Her battle with cancer was fierce, but her spirit remained strong until the very end. Watching her go through that journey has left me with a deep sense of loss and sadness that is hard to put into words.
During this time off, I plan to prioritize self-care and healing. Grieving is a process that takes time, patience, and self-compassion. I want to give myself the space and grace to feel all the emotions that come with this loss without any added pressure or distractions.
I must honor Lauren’s memory by caring for myself during this difficult time.
I also want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your understanding and support during this challenging period in my life. Your messages of love and encouragement have meant the world to me and have helped me feel less alone in my grief.
Knowing that I have a community of fellow direct marketers who care about me as a person beyond just my professional skills is truly heartwarming.
As we approach the new year, I hope 2021 will bring healing, growth, and renewed energy for myself and my business. While the pain of losing Lauren will never fully go away, I believe that time will help soften its edges and allow me to carry her memory with me in a way that feels empowering rather than debilitating.
Again, I want to express my gratitude for your understanding and support during this challenging time in my life. Taking care of our mental health is just as important as taking care of our physical health, especially when dealing with grief and loss.
By allowing ourselves the time and space to heal, we can come back stronger, more resilient, and better equipped to serve others personally and professionally.
Thank you for reading this personal update. I look forward to reconnecting with you all in 2021.
