Greg Popovich and Bill Belichick are my two favorite coaches from the current sports era. And they both share three qualities that I think we should all emulate if we want to become successful in our fields of interest:
- They work smart – they pay attention to what happens in the game and adjust to fill whatever void they have to win.
- Even though they can adjust their teams to win, they know what makes their teams great. And they aren’t afraid to go back to that formula when needed.
- They don’t try to go off-the-wall when they are in trouble. Instead, they use common sense to solve their problems.
If I can put together these three elements, and be half as successful as these two great coaches are, I’ll consider myself to be extremely successful in life.
